INNOVATION FROM WESTFALIA-AUTOMOTIVE
The range of retractable towbars from Westfalia-Automotive offer the ultimate in convenience and ease of use. Westfalia-Automotive RX Retractable towbars have been developed as a result of many years of collaboration and innovative development with the worlds leading vehicle manufacturers.
Thanks to its compact design and precision rotation mechanism, the RX System provides design solutions that were previously not possible on some vehicles because of restricted installation space between the vehicles rear panel and the bumper. If a bumper cut is required, Westfalia-Automotive has precisely followed the cut specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
The towbar is unlocked using an easy-to-access handle positioned behind the bumper. The towbar neck is then rotated by hand into the final locked position. For your safety and peace of mind, an audible warning tone will sound if the mechanism is not in the locked position.
The electrical socket is conveniently located on the towbar neck, making the connection between car and trailer or cycle carrier could not be simpler. When the towbar is not in use, the towbar neck and electrical socket can be swivelled back and out of sight behind the vehicles bumper.
The benefits of a retractable towbar
- Compact: The compact construction and special swivel mechanism make these towbars compatible even for cars with limited space available
- Convenience: The plug on the ball rod makes it easy to wire the trailer or bike carrier into the car's electrical system
- Immediately ready for use & almost invisible: The towbar swivels out in seconds, either electronically or manually, only when needed - the rest of the time it is hidden inconspicuously under the fender
The RX System
The RX System is supplied as a kit and includes a 13-pin, vehicle-specific wiring system, ensuring excellent logistics and competitive prices. The towbar is unlocked using a conveniently located handle postioned behind the fender. The tow ball neck is then moved into the ready position, with a warning tone indicating when it has locked into place.
